Exceptionally, a prison sentence may also be suspended for those convicted with a criminal record.
Additionally, our Penal Code, provided the requirements established in said legal framework are met, contemplates the possibility of suspending the execution of prison sentences of up to five years for those convicted of crimes due to their dependence on alcoholic beverages, toxic drugs, narcotics, psychotropic substances, or other substances that produce similar effects.
