Suspension of 7-month prison sentence for non-payment of fine

As an expert in enforcement proceedings , the client came to the firm after being ordered to serve seven months in prison for failing to pay a fine imposed in a court ruling.

We immediately filed a written justification for the nonpayment, given the client’s financial difficulties at the time. We also presented the necessary documentation to prove this and requested that the sentence be suspended and that the prison sentence that had been served on our client be revoked.

However, the request was initially dismissed, and we were forced to appeal to the Barcelona Provincial Court, expanding and justifying our initial arguments even further.

Ultimately, our request was granted, and we avoided the client’s imprisonment by suspending the execution of his seven-month prison sentence.
